Toolbox Installers
LIME Toolbox installers can be downloaded from the GitHub repository (github.com/LIME-ESA/lime_tbx/releases). Each release has its respective installers under assets.
Depending on your OS you need a different installer:
- Windows: LimeTBX.installer.exe
- Debian (Ubuntu, Linux mint, etc): lime_VERSION.deb
- Linux (All distributions): lime_installer.zip
- Mac: lime.pkg
The online user guide is available at lime-esa.github.io/lime_tbx.
Datasets
Lunar irradiance datasets generated during the LIME projects include ground-based measurements from both multispectral and hyperspectral instruments, as well as compiled spectral libraries and processed irradiance data. A selection of these datasets is publicly available.

Night-Langley Lunar Irradiance (Cimel Photometer)
Lunar irradiance data calculated using the night-Langley method with the Cimel CE318-TP9 solar-lunar photometer, located at Pico Teide and Izaña Observatory, is available on Zenodo: https://zenodo.org/records/10534333
Hyperspectral Lunar Reflectance (ASD Spectroradiometer)
Hyperspectral measurements of lunar reflectance obtained with a well-characterised spectroradiometer at Izaña Observatory are also available on Zenodo: https://zenodo.org/records/10534235
This dataset is the result of a measurement campaign with an ASD spectroradiometer with a spectral range from 350 to 2500 nm. The instrument was installed in the low airmass areas of the Pico Teide in Tenerife, where many other instruments are operated. The instrument measured 3 full cycles of the lunar phase. From these measurements, using various processing steps, 180 reflectance spectra have been derived, employing averaging and interpolation. The spectra cover the full range of phase angles, between -90 and 90 degrees, with a step of 1 degree.
Lunar Spectral Library
As part of the project, a comprehensive spectral library of the lunar surface was compiled. This library is split into two databases: DB1 and DB2. Some datasets of each database are publicly available.
DB1 – Lunar Surface Hyperspectral Reflectance
The DB1 database contains hyperspectral measurements of the integrated lunar disc, as well as laboratory measurements. It includes two publicly available datasets from distinct instruments or campaigns:
- APOLLO 16: Laboratory reflectance spectra of Apollo 16 samples of soil.
- ASD: Hyperspectral measurements of lunar reflectance obtained with the ASD spectroradiometer at Izaña Observatory.
DB2 – Annotated Lunar Irradiance Measurements
DB2 contains lunar irradiance data in GLOD-format NetCDF files, with associated metadata such as phase angle, observation geometry, and instrument details. Each file corresponds to a unique combination of instrument and observation time. It includes data from:
- CIMEL: Lunar irradiance data calculated using the night-Langley method with the Cimel solar-lunar photometer.
- PROBA-V: Satellite-based data.
Both of these databases can be downloaded at the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) CalVal portal: https://calvalportal.ceos.org/web/guest/lime-material/-/document_library/rGhOiLOK3RD0/view/964345
